Enterprise Holdings Recognized for Eco-Friendly Fleet Programs
By Lee Broughton
I recently wrote about some recognition Enterprise Holdings received for our efforts to make our company more sustainable. Since then, we’ve been fortunate to receive even more positive feedback.
Travel Weekly has selected us as for two Gold Magellan Awards. Enterprise Holdings was recognized for both the National Car Rental Emerald Club loyalty program and for our overall eco-friendly fleet programs, which includes the expansion of our fuel-efficient fleet, promotion of alternative-fuel vehicles and other environmental initiatives. In fact, we were selected from more than 550 nominations to become the only company Travel Weekly honored with two awards in the ground transportation category.
It’s always gratifying to win awards – but the success of our company’s sustainable business initiatives is only possible through the great work of our local and regional operations. As a testament to that, our Southern California team received recognition from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) for its regional efforts. The organization chose Enterprise Holdings as a Clean Air Award Winner in its “promotion of good environmental stewardship” category. Our team received the award for the growth of its EV and hybrid rental options and for its successful operational sustainability initiatives, including energy reduction and motor oil recycling efforts.
This honor aimed to recognize companies that have made positive strides to improve air quality through innovation and local leadership. And it is an important acknowledgement of our overall network of rental locations successfully working within their local communities.
For us, managing our operations more sustainably and responsibly is all about strengthening our relationships with customers and the communities we serve. So if we are recognized by our peers or partners, it only further validates that we’re heading in the right direction.
